What Evil Lurks in Darkshire

As of this writing (May 2021), this audio drama is 21 years old. I (Domien) was 18 years old when we made it.
It was written by myself. The sound effects and editing were done by Olivier Fuchs (who played Hans in The Beast of the Western Wilds). I played Jeremy, Mr. Hickman and Baron Bodark. Olivier played Edward Donahue.

The music was taken from the film scores Sleepy Hollow (Danny Elfman), Interview with the Vampire (Elliot Goldenthal), Devil’s Advocate (James Newton Howard), The Haunting (Jerry Goldsmith) and The Sixth Sense (James Newton Howard).

I will always remember fondly how we recorded the dialogue for the coach scene in Olivier’s garden in the middle of the night, every bit as cold and uncomfortable as the characters we were playing.

Of all our old projects, this is the oldest one in English, but also the least embarrassing today. You will definitely see some of the same elements that inspired The Beast of the Western Wilds. I was a lovesick teenager when we made this and I wrote it in a few nights, but I still think there’s some real emotion to this tale, if you can look past the phony accents, anachronisms, wonky pacing, squeaky voices and other obvious flaws.

Please enjoy What Evil Lurks In Darkshire!
